Jewelry art has been an act of reclamation for me. It has taught me that my power, creativity, intuition, and peace are necessary and valuable. Jewelry has also given me the freedom to express my identity and to find myself over, and over again.” -V

BlackQueerMagic represents the creative, professional, and spiritual journey of VBM, MSW. V uses she/they pronouns and identifies as a Black, Queer, Jamaican woman, & former foster youth. V is a self taught jewelry artist who specializes in lapidary, gemology, and metal smithing.

Additionally, they are a skilled clinician with formal training in working with LGBTQ communities. With BQM, they merge their love of community activism and therapeutic interventions with their love for jewelry design. V creates handmade healing crystal and metal stamped pieces with a focus on Black Queer and Trans liberation and teaches community members how to harness their creative power.

Through her online platform, BlackQueerMagic, V does outreach, donates, and engages with community members from across the world. V firmly believes that with the current political climate its important to center the most marginalized folks in our communities. We must also be intentional and radical in our self care, as its important now more than ever to continue being Black, brilliant, resilient, queer, and magical. Photo by Rae Landingin
